broken bones don’t lie
June 28th, 2007 by rivulets
I broke my clavicle in a bicycle wreck. We hope to complete the “you” trilogy, which began with the “you’ve got your own” EP on Acuarela (part 1), followed by the “you are my home” album on Important (part 2). Part 3 title is TBA; it may be called “inscrutable you”… it could be an album or it may be an EP.
You can help by purchasing items on the order page. I am listening to “Le Fil” by Camille. We listened to “Le Fil” every day on our last tour. I am reading “Hardcore Zen” by Brad Warner and “the Simple Guide to Judaism” by David Starr-Glass; and watching “Freaks and Geeks“. Be good to your family; they’re all you have.
that sounds extremely painful…
take care!!!
Ouch! That sucks. Is it healing well? Are you able to play guitar/shred?
Feel better soon!
on first reading I thought a clavicle was some kind of piano. Thought it was kind of funny to break one of those in a bike accident. But apparently it’s an actual part of your body, so I hope your feeling better already and you didn’t have to stay in bed for too long.
Looking forward already to the new release, and whenever you’ll make it back to Europe, I’ll be there
take care,

ggf: It was painful, especially when I realized it was my collarbone, not the back tire, that gave such an impressive “POP!” when I crashed. But they gave me good drugs to kill the pain and facilitate hours-on-end of movie watching.
sewmyheadon: Is your moniker a Sunny Day reference? I love their albums “Diary”, “How it Feels to be Something On”, and especiially J. Enigk’s “Return of the Frog Queen”: Everyone go out and get this right now!
tunic: Yes, solo rivs tour late 2007, cross fingers… Hope to see you there!
Nathan,
Interesting that you ask.
Actually, yes and no. The original idea came from Sunny Day Real Estate, but not because it’s actually in their lyrics. It’s how I misheard the opening lyric of the song ‘Seven’ on the album ‘Diary.’
If I’m not mistaken, the actual line is ‘Sew it on,’ but I always imagined it differently and my interpretation resonated with me. So, once I realized my mistake, I adopted this flub as a moniker and it has grown to mean a bunch of things to me.
I agree, all three of those albums are awesome. ‘Diary’ opened my eyes and I have fond memories of skulking about Dallas pumping the volume and trying to sew my head on.
