MINIMAL SINGER / SONGWRITER: Debridement is a gorgeous album evoking quiet personal moments through delicate melodies and honest emotions. A contemplative voice opens the disc repeating, “There’s an evil in this room,” on the song “An Evil.” The a cappella intro quickly leads into the stirring acoustic guitar and subtle banjo on “Cutter” with satiny smooth male vocals and whispering female backing. This reserved, intimate tone continues throughout the 11 tracks, resulting in a shining gem of introspective modern ethereal folk. Singer / songwriter Nathan Amundson’s personal vocals and crisp guitar are enhanced by many guest appearances, such as Jessica Bailiff, Jon DeRosa, Brian John Mitchell, and Mimi Parker.
